Maitenance of Indian Forestry Research & Information System (IFRIS)

The ICFRE had undertaken development of Indian Forestry Research Information System (IFRIS), an enterprise level software solution comprising of 17 different modules catering to the Research, Finance and Human Resource Management need of the organization. Most of the modules of IFRIS have been rolled out. The IFRIS project has been implemented using three stages given as below:-


Stage I


(07th June 2006 to 31st January 2007)

Stage II

Project Development including Business Process Re-engineering

(15th March 2007 to 31st August 2007) completed by the firm M/s Wipro Limited, Doddakannellii, Sarjapur Road, Bangalore 560 035, having its branch office at 480-81, Udyog Vihar, Phase 3, Guagaon 122016, selected through competitive bidding  process.

Stage III

Software Development and Implementation executed by the firm M/s Sobha Renaissance Information Technology Pvt. Ltd., SRIT House, # 113/1B, ITPL Main Road, Kundalahalli, Bangalore 560037, selected through competitive bidding process.


The following modules have been functioning extensively across ICFRE   institutes:


Research Information Management  System (RIMS)

Extension Management System

Payroll Management System

Personal Information Management System (PIMS)

Electronic Document Management  System (EDMS)     


RIMS-primarily use for uploading of concept note of the project, submission of project proposal from scientist to higher level of hierarchy for the approval as well as for the progress of the project. The various types of reports regarding projects viz: active, started, priority wise, division wise, institute wise may be obtained.


PIMS-The Leave module has been implemented across all ICFRE Institutes for On-Line Leave. All ICFRE officials are operating On Line Leave across ICFRE since January 1, 2011.

EDMS-module used to archive the old and current documents and also for streamlining the official work flow on day-to-day basis.
